Blue Rock Wines, Eden Valley, 2020, Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is a wine style that comes from Italy. The Pinot Gris grapes are picked at a slightly earlier stage of development thus having higher acidity and lower sugar levels. The resultant wine is lower in alcohol and has a crisp acid finish. The aromas of citrus and pear indulge the nose. The palate has lovely nashi pear and lemongrass flavours. The zingy acidity makes this wine linger in the mouth and leaves you wanting more. Best enjoyed chilled, on its own or with fresh seafood.

Reserve, Eden Valley 2019
The fruit for this wine comes from our cool climate Eden Valley vineyard. It was harvested at optimum ripeness and fermented at low temperatures to retain the varietal characteristics. It displays the clean and lifted varietal nose of guava and lemongrass followed by a crisp palate of green apples, stone fruit and rockmelon. A small portion (25%) of this wine completed its fermentation in oak barrels. This has imparted some nutty and honeyed characters to the wine. Well suited to most seafood dishes.

Reserve 2014 Black Velvet Shiraz
This is a perfect blend of red and white grape varieties developed in the Cotes du Rhone district in Southern France. It is made possible due to both varieties maturing at the same time. They are crushed and fermented together to merge the flavours of these two noble varieties. Usually 3-5% Viognier is ample to introduce the floral aromas and contribute to the wines softness in the mouth. This wine has retained the Shiraz characters of cherry and raspberry with Viognier adding the floral aromas and slipperiness in the mouth.

Reserve 2014 ’Pantelis’
The Pantelis Cabernet Sauvignon is our signature wine and bears the name of the family patriarch. Pantelis Zachopoulos (1927-1998) immigrated to Australia from Greece in 1966 with his wife Olga and four children. His diverse agricultural knowledge was passed onto his children Michael, Nicholas and myself [Zissis]. In 1998 a few months before his passing we purchased and began establishing our vineyard in the Barossa Ranges. I decided to make this wine in his honor as a token of our appreciation for everything he has taught us. The wine has dark rich fruits, plum and blackcurrant with a touch of typical Cabernet herbaceousness on the nose. The palate is long and full with lovely dark chocolate, mocca and cassis favours.
